What would u think about a gay foreign minister??

I personly think, that a sexual orientation should not matter...

A person's sexual orientation does not inhibit them from doing their job.

People really need to stop focusing on stuff like that. It doesn't make a difference. (Not directed to anyone in particular, just people in general. LOL!)

 

Even though it does not matter,it does in some circles especially conservative ones.

 

Just like a person's race doesn't affect whether they have the ability to do a job or not.

People just like to judge others for things they find offensive, instead of thinking about how capable of doing the job, which is what should matter.

Same thing goes for women. For centuries it's been believed that we are unable to be as good as men in many positions, when in actuality there are plenty of jobs that women could do just as well, if not better.

It all boils down to personal capabilities. If the gay man in question has no qualifications and is stupid, then surely he can't do the job. But if he's just as good as everyone else then what the fuck does it matter where he sticks his dick in his personal time?

 

OK this picture is maybe not the best, but this is the new foreign minister of Germany and he is gay. Dispite the fact, that I realy don´t like him for his politics I also don´t think that he will make a good freign minister for Germany since he don´t speak English and in a world where English is the Franca Lingua that is not so good.

His gayness could cause trouble in countries like Russia or Saudi Arabia, since those and other countries have very hopeless views about this special sexual orientation.

We have some open gay politicians in Germany and I think that is cool.
But when it comes down to the foreign minister who should represent Germany to other countries.... well if he at least would be fluent in english.....
I think this fact will cause trouble in other countries who are agains gays.

 

Exactly. Which is why these types of situations are just completely ridiculous to me.

 

I think you have to keep in mind that there are countries that are opposed to women in these type positions as well... and many countries have them..( Hillary Clinton for example, Iceland... etc) and it seem to work fine.
Im more concerned about the fact that he dosent speak English - wtf, should that not be a pre-requisite??

I don't think it's fair to put Russia in the same category as Saudia Arabia in regards to homophobia. In Russia, homosexuality might not be as widely accepted as in Britain for example, but it's not seen as a criminal act and is not punishable by death. There are a lot of pro-homosexual movements in Russia now and Russian gays and lesbians feel a lot more comfortable coming out now than they did twenty years ago. Whilst they aren't on the level of Germany, where they can have an openly gay politician, they are progressing, something that I can't see in Saudi Arabia.

The thing with this man is that he has to be very, very careful with what he does in his private life. If he does something silly like wear a feather boa for a fancy dress party, you can imagine the media reaction. He has to be on his absolute best behaviour 100% of the time. But if he is good at his job, his sexual orientation doesn't matter.
Whether you agree with his politics is a different issue entirely I think. That has nothing to do with him being gay. Not speaking English is a big disadvantage for a foreign minister but not a deal breaker necessarily.

Personally, I respect the guy just for the fact that he's been honest about his sexuality in the political world. It's so much better to just go about it the honest way rather than being caught with his pants down in the toilets and a barely legal Thai boy between his legs, like certain British politicians have been.

 

There was this gay pol in Holland who was right wing. He was assassinated by a crazy guy not a homophobe.
