Facts. I been using IG regularly for almost a year & the functionality is TRASH compared to Twitter, Facebook, & even Google+.

Personally, Most annoying functionality issues on IG:

1. Search function. You can ONLY search for accounts, hashtags, & locations. Good luck finding individual posts that aren't tagged with a hashtag or location. Even if you're searching by hashtag, I don't even think there is a search filter.

2. You can't mute or lower the volume on a video on the desktop interface.

3. You can't see the full list of people that you follow, who follow a specific IG account.

I'm guessing this is why the IG founders recently left Facebook. Facebook was probably glad to see them go since they didn't want add basic-ass functionality to the app.

Great post.

I use the Followers app to see who's unfollowed me and the Grambler app to upload from my desktop. Both 3rd party apps that should be part of IG functionality

I think the fact you can't drill down in search is what people like about it i.e. you can talk mad shit on people's accounts and nobody will see your posts

For me, IG is the growth platform in gaining followers with great retention while Twitter is the lame duck. Peeps will follow then unfollow. I've been stuck on the same # on Twitter forever. FB is the steady workhorse if you straight want people to see what you're doing

What was supposed to be a photo-sharing app a la Flickr has become the big booty BBW "model" app, they have completely taken it over. I wish I could come up with a way to monetize female narcissism and vanity (IG) and need to talk (Smartphones) I wouldn't be posting on here, I'd be mega- rich

You already have the right idea. Either that or monetizing off of a man's ego.

Otherwise ,If you actually come up with something functional, you have to market it to a business.

I focus on the other one, EyeEm. It is there you keep find the more artistic photographers, not too many selfies around, actually.

@Bliss Since you read MTO so much, did you see the blackfishing article?:

The Kylie Jenner effect. I am laughing out loud because they are ridiculous and I can't imagine anyone get fooled by this. I mean, they are practically in blackface, even if they mean it as a "tribute".

Men hardly buy anything so the only way to monetize a guy's ego would be to market to the super-rich. Cars, boats, expensive suits, watches etc

Women are known for impulse shopping, vanity and talking their heads off. The whole social media thing of separating male thirst and admiration from their icky, creepy physical presence and monetizing it was genius. I almost think it's an unintended byproduct of social media, not planned at all

What in the Rachel Dolezal is this????
I saw a video on YouTube discussing the topic. Supposedly some of these white IG models feels like lightskin/redbone/yellowbone/biracial/mimixed/exotical bw IG models are getting too much attention from BM & even WM.

So they're going beyond just getting a phat ass & taking the next step to compete with the lightskin & biracial IG models.

Stripped down to the foundation it is actually quite sad.

*Weird that l didn't get your tag alert.
(Why do you post that anti-WW/BM link on here, grr)

I did read this yesterday and had actually read the many nasty tweets directly on twitter. IMO, she is behaving no differently than the niki minaj types who bleach their skin and wear straight blonde weaves or wigs.

Sweden has an abundance of straight blondes and pales. Maybe she wants to be different and that's why she deep tans and curls and dyes her hair black. Exotic looks are rare there. Who knows. She says she isnt trying to look "Black" and she isn't behaving any differently than herself, so l believe her when she says it's just a look she likes and adopted.

What do you think?

I hope you burn in hell': Mother of woman, 31, who was strangled, shot and burned to death in New Orleans tells the killer to rot in prison before he is sentenced to life

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...-woman-tells-killer-burn-hell-sentencing.html

All because she refused to have sex with him.
How does a man's mind go from wanting your p**y to, "Oh no? Well I'm going to now chase you, beat you, strangle you then shoot you and set you on fire."
Utterly sickening.

I believe her 9 year-old son is bi-racial. Poor child, losing him mommy like that to 2 monsters.

You didn't ask me, but I answer anyway.

Scandinavia is going through a shift in what is perceived as a good looking woman. Before, it was more or less only the skinny girls (with any kind of hair colour and texture, but preferably blond straight hair) who could tan easily that was looked upon as pretty, sexy and hot.

And one thing is almost gone now: Natural blonde women had privilege, almost no matter how they looked like.

Now this is changing and actually in a good way because now it includes more body shapes as sexy and not just sexual. 20 years ago I was looked upon as fat among my male peers. These days I am getting told by (both white and black) men 20 years my junior that I got an arse to die for and want to try if their finger tips meet when they hold around my waist, while white men my age still thinks I am fat.

Skinny rules still. Blonde rules still, but I have observed that if a prettier brunette comes in the doors the blonde will be overlooked. This did not happen before.

I have yet to see my type of white skin getting celebrated by white people, they think it is ugly since I can't tan. And reddish hair hasn't been in fashion for over 200 years. But I have had asians of both gender going crazy for what they called my cream and peach complexion. I asked why and they said more or less the same: It is so rare.

To them, I was the exotic one.

Ugh ... I'm 16 miles away from the Woolsey wild fire border. Where I'm at is relatively safe. I'm in the middle of the Valley which is much more urban. Very little brush and no real woodland areas. But, I can still smell the smoke.

So sad for the people who've lost their homes. It's terrible. Old people who live alone not having anyone to check on them. Animals having to be left behind because their owners can't take them with the family or can't get back home to get them. It's all so very awful. Heartbreaking.

I have friends who were evacuated from Paradise fires. They most likely have lost everything...homes, jobs, you name it. It took them most of that day to even get out because fires were blocking roads...fire all around them. No cell service, not knowing if people are safe. So scary.

Stay safe.

Good read.
BTW, authentic Redheads are becoming more and more scarce. Sad day if they no longer exist.

I think it's a good thing that standards are expanding, but l feel that (still), given the opportunity and free choice, most western men world-wide would still pick the slim, tanned blonde.

And Bliss' president is talking about pulling federal disaster funding for CA. What a guy. Keep safe, man.

I just watched the Bali nine
I am sure you Aussie posters know about it
Wow what a sad case

Death by firing squad for trying to smuggle dope???
It's crazy, few kids made mistake to traffic drugs and rot in prison for 10 yrs and after they made significant rehabilitation then you kill them with firing squad, wow, it's crazy
The audacity of that prez, using fighter jets, heavy armor military vehicles, couple of hundreds of soldiers and police just to arrest and escort few kids from commercial flight for trafficking dope, come on son
Did they commit a crime -yes
Should they be punished -yes but not by death
Few young kids made a wrong choice and took couple of wrong turns and now get death by firing squad??? Shit is crazy
Here in US We got serial killers who get life, cold blooded killers who only serve 20 years might be out in 10 by parole
Heck we got ppl committed to death row in 80s still living in prison, but Indonesia excutes these kids, shit is crazy
The Aussie govt should have pushed hard for them
Racist or not, US still one of greatest country to live, God bless America!!!

Thanks. Other than the area smelling like burned trees and us losing power for several hours Saturday (high winds), we're safe.

Not that I'm an expert, but I think we're okay. However, I still stay on alert just incase of some freak occurrence.
