You agree that slavery (free labor) would be attractive for any economic structure right? Well, the economic structure that was in place during the transatlantic slave trade was capitalism, which is my point.
Socialism could have been in place and slavery still would have worked well with it, so I don't see your point.

Perhaps then you would be here making a case against socialism.

As matter of fact capitalism didn't take hold until at least 1750. There were black slaves here in 1619.

But hey.........If you feel that you made a point, good for you.

If socialism was the economic system that perpetuated the largest forced migration of human beings in history, then yeah I would.

Well it wasn't capitalism soo.........

Capitalism has a beginning I've already pointed that out. You act as if money didn't exist before capitalism. Who doesn't want to save money? Slavery is just a matter of legality, and social acceptance for the most part.

Slavery existed under democracy or more accurate this representative republic. Don't forget to throw that under the bus now.

I'm not throwing anything under the bus and the subject isn't about democracy it's about economics, also I'm not the first and I won't be the last person who sees the complicity capitalism has with the slave trade.

It didn't create slavery. Black slaves were here before Adam Smith was born. Care to give a REAL example?
Artificial scarcity like what?
Chattel slavery did not exist in that particular form. Most other instances slavery stopped with the individual it didn't exapnd for generations it was also usually a result of war and those enslaved if freed could assimilate that hasn't been the case here.
And even if they existed before turning them into commodities like farm tools was new the long term suffering was different.

Artificial scarcity like diamonds. People are being hacked to pieces to mine stones that are as abundant almost as much as sand but one entity has walled of a majority of it creating an incentive to hurt children in order to get more.

So you want to ignore the political structure in a political thread?

LMAO

Can't make this up.

Why would I read an entire book to see your point when I've been a student of finance, graduated from that, and gave you facts that you made no attempt to dispute?

I could care less how many people make the wrong associations. I don't educate myself for purposes of group think.

Sure many black people think that way. Likewise black people are bottom of the barrel economically, and have the least understanding and poorest application of economics than any other group of people here in America.

You're gonna attack democracy to be fair, or you gonna be like Thump and claim that this thread is only about economics?

People who aren't anti-capitalist don't go around suggesting socialism, they argue points within Capitalism. Your tendency to dodge accountability on this fourm is second only to blister. She deflects, you project. Then you move the goal post and give false equivalences of logic. "With that logic......."

Then just like now you give vague explanations and false examples that only a layperson to the subject would buy, at least know who you're debating.

If you want to bow out of this, I get it. It's probably a good idea.
One more time I have never argued for socialism. I argue for Democratic socialism its a mixed economy we already have one. I only believe we should expand the role of government to take care of our needs and capitalism our wants. Healthcare and education should not be fucking commodities these are mechanism of survival. You want to compete to make phones and microwaves go right ahead but gambling with life and death should not be how we operate. Any system that has most scrambling to live while a very few live well by definition simply doesnt work. You clearly have absolutely no argument other than hey we've always done this so this should be the way. Again lazy ass thinking.

I've earned an "LMAO" I'm honored.

"Democratic socialists" argue against capitalism. Maybe you should actually read the website and make a stand or actually use words that relay what you think

Guy says I use "lazy thinking" but he's to lazy to research and educate himself on the actual principals that "Democratic Socialists" argue. Then uses the term in an attempt to escape accountability.

Projectors and deflectors just can't help themselves. We already know it's a defense mechanism. Perhaps it's a mental disorder as well.

Unregulated capitalism is predatory. Without the proper guard rails, it destroys societies and cannibalizes the middle class.
Most intelligent response of the day. Perhaps we should have a viable economic policy instead of Villainizing it.

Pointing out that capitalism is an imperfect system that has hurt people isn't "villanizing it" quite the opposite actually. Remembering the pitfalls of the past and pointing out the flaws of the present, helps to refine capitalism so that it can work better for everyone in the future.

If you can't keep up there's no shame. Its ok to be ignorant on a topic as long as you're willing to educate yourself on it. You should try it because Democratic socialism does not demonize capitalism. Please show us where it says that especially on the Bernie Sanders website you keep low key referencing. I gladly await your response

I'm not gonna play this game with you dude. You haven't mentioned a single economic policy. You only mention a different economic structure, being educated in finance you have zero excuses.

You also gave a funny answer to a basic financial question about risk in another thread. You play dumb and project. Anyone that hasn't realized that are perceiving on a low frequency.

I'm not trying to attack you just being honest. If I didn't like you I would just ignore all if it.
