Taskmaster is a dangerous cat. I wasn't aware that he had been included in the MCU lately.

No.
I'm assuming that you haven't seen the Black Widow movie? MCU Taskmaster was introduced in the Black Widow movie and will next appear in the upcoming Thunderbolts movie.

I saw it awhile back, but I totally forgot there was a reference to him in the film. Am I correct to assume it was at the end, as usual with the MCU?

Rewatch Black Widow whenever you get a chance. Taskmaster is in the movie as an operative for the main antagonist and you'll understand the why I'm referencing Taskmaster as MCU Taskmaster. Or wait until Thunderbolts comes out & you'll see.
