Well kids that time has come.

While I have enjoyed being a member of this board for a number of years it is time to say farewell.

All of the back and forth negativity is too much for me.

Being called a "Pig" by FH was the final straw for me as well as the current gif posted that shows a "man" slapping a woman across the face makes me recognize that this is a place where there is not much respect for women.

I am well aware that many of the posters here are wonderful, funny, bright lovely people and I have enjoyed my interactions with you all.

However, I want to live my live in a positve way and there is just too much negativity here.

I know this post will be mocked by some as being overly emotional and that is fine. I posted it.....I own it.

Tarshi you need to get that ass of yours working over time!

It's beyond me why people would take time out of their busy lives (I'm playing hooky from clients and school posting here) to engage in cyber-insults. Sucks to see someone being harangued off of the forum.

Vanilla you were one of the posters I've loved to read what they have to say , but I can understand you totally. This morning it shocked me, too, when I've seen the pic. Take care of yourself,my dear and I hope we will hear us sometimes again, but to be honest I doubt it.
 
I understand why you're leaving Vanilla, Flaming is a horrible man. I really can't believe he said that (oh wait it's Flaming, why am I shocked?!). That was a really awful thing to say after what you shared. I have so much respect for you! I really wish he would be banned so we don't lose valued members.

Oh and thanks for the recommendation, I've decided to go to the Maldives instead as it's a little less pricey and less flight time. I cannot wait to go diving to see all the fish! Super excited. :) it's going to be a year after the verdict of my attacker in May when I'm going so I'm glad I'm going somewhere beautiful to take my mind off of it. I'll be in the Indian Ocean whilst he's rotting in some sex offenders prison with others just like him!

Thoughts on Google+

I've signed up for Google+ a few weeks back and so far, I don't see what's the big deal about it altogether. Maybe I'm not fully aware of the functions, but it's nothing too special. I guess the only redeeming and unique factor that G+ actually have that's well worth it would be the Circle of Friends. Where you can literally create your own group and add your select number of friends there. It's pretty convenient, especially when sending emails to those who play online games with you.

It's a good substitute for Facebook nevertheless. But if you already have Facebook, perhaps the only other reason to consider G+ would be due to the controversial lack of privacy for the user.

I hate to hear that you're leaving VC, but I do understand. The lack of respect for women & in general from some people and the negativity definitely takes away from something that should be a positive & beautiful thing for everyone here.

Lack of respect for women or people in general?
Those that get the women bashing label seem to not get along with anyone not just the women.

Coronation Street’s controversial rape storyline, in which Carla Connor was attacked minutes after dumping her fiancé Frank Foster on the eve of their wedding, has led to an 800 per cent rise in calls to Rape Crisis.

The charity, which runs the national helpline for rape survivors, experienced the huge rise in calls after the story aired on ITV last week and extra volunteers have now been taken on to deal with the volume of calls.

The plot came under fire before it aired, because it was being shown pre-watershed, however, Rape Crisis have now praised the episode, watched by 10 million viewers.

Helpline Coordinator at Rape Crisis South London, Rosa Knight, applauded the programme makers for their accuracy: "Though other programmes have run similar storylines, the response for the Coronation Street storyline has been like nothing we've experienced before.

“It is so important for mainstream shows to tackle these important issues in a well-researched way and it appears the programme makers worked hard to do just that."

Rape survivor Sarah Scott has also declared her support for the storyline.

Writing in the Sun newspaper she said: “Most rapists are people the victims know and I think it is important for women to realise this. That's why Carla's story is so realistic.

“I think it's vital that women watch scenes like this on TV to remind them that, sadly, rape is not unusual…

“Even though it doesn't make easy viewing, I think it is vital for soaps such as Coronation Street to tackle these hard-hitting storylines. I believe the agony we saw Carla suffering will help other women realise it is not their fault and they must report it and seek counselling.”

Coronation Street producer Phil Collinson recently vowed to reduce crime storylines, but this latest plot has shown the influential effects soaps can have on viewers.

Fellow Corrie star Kym Marsh, who plays Michelle Connor, wrote in her New magazine column: “Alison King, who plays Carla Connor, worked extremely hard to do it justice for all those people who've gone through it for real.

"And let's not forget Andrew Lancel, who plays Frank Foster. He has to play a rapist and the way he portrayed it was incredible - the viewers despise him."

She added: "It was exceptionally well written - the guy has just raped his fiancée, then flippantly walks back into the flat with a bottle of wine and a takeaway. It gave me a chill down my spine."

In 2001, Corrie was rapped by TV regulator, the Independent Television Commission, after it showed Toyah Battersby in a horrific attack and only offered the Granada website as a helpline.

Ten years on, it seems Corrie bosses have finally got it right.

Survivors can go online to www.rapecrisis.org.uk for counselling and support. The national Rape Crisis helpline is 0808 802 9999, open 12 - 2.30 and 7 - 9.30pm every day of the year.

Www.sexoffendersscotland.org.UK is my only one at the moment. Haha it's all about S not Z! That site is more of an expose kinda thing but I've written a couple articles. Ive had it for just over two months and had over 50,000 hits :D fight negativity with positivity :) thank you! Man, I look stupid when I type from my iPad all these random caps I can't be bothered sorting haha.
