Miami, New Orleans, and pretty much all cities that are below sea level may need to take extra precaution. In a few decades, these cities will cease to be. And why is that? Looking at Miami's situation and the continued oceans continuing to rise, we may no longer have a South Florida. This is all due to climate change and we have no one to blame, but ourselves. But even with efforts to lessen the inevitable, it'll still come to us soon enough.
It's a damn shame when we politicize something as factual as climate change and people are too quick to dismiss something as critical as this.

Truth. Truth! And the peninsula is almost completely flat, so there's no high ground or natural barrier to the water continuing to spread over the land area.
Yeah. They play Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto.
And bully smaller kids as we saw in the other thread![]()
Yeah, you guys both have a point. I hate nostalgia, because it's played out. But I have to say that is one of the few things that is qualitatively different from my youth. We played just to... play. If you had a ball you played soccer or basketball. If there was no ball, you just ran races, climbed trees, whatever. It seems like kids don't want to break a sweat these days.
This is true. If we had a teabagger President I'd consider hopping on a boat my damn self.
A world power damn near brought to it's knees by an unreasonable group of nutjobs...and the worst part? The further south you go, the nuttier they get!
And I live in Georgia, so...yeah. :smt012
It's ridiculous. Let's see if these reports of them giving up this fools' errand are true. I'm watching the news even as we speak/type.
Yeah, I hear you, but living in Ft. Lauderdale/Miami area has worked out pretty well for me. I have tons of really good friends. We go out all the time and have a blast, so I'm not complaining. I ignore the idiots as much as possible. Don't know how our governor ever got voted in. Definitely not from South Florida voters!!
Yeah, I worked my butt off for Alex Sink, but 'twas not to be. I cringe every time I read anything about Rick Scott. But he pulled in big numbers in the panhandle, up around Ocala, northeast FL and the conservative retirees along the Gulf Coast.
