Ken Thorne: Near the city of Morondava, on the West coast of Madagascar, lies an ancient forest of Baobab trees. Unique to Madagascar, the endemic species is sacred to the Malagasy people and rightly so. Walking amongst these giants is like nothing else on this planet. Some of the trees here are over a thousand years old. It is a spiritual place, almost magical

Beautiful pics, Jordan. :D

Wow! WTF
Where two oceans meet but do not mix. Gulf of Alaska.

1zlg9k2.jpg
Apparently:

These two bodies of water were merging in the middle of The Gulf of Alaska and there was a foam developing only at their junction. It is a result of the melting glaciers being composed of fresh water and the ocean has a higher percentage of salt causing the two bodies of water to have different densities and therefore makes it more difficult to mix.

Wow! That is very weird!

This is a very cool:smt080 pic Tammy. I have never seen anything like this before. Great find.:smt023

Wow! WTFApparently:

It's a wild picture. Yeah, I was looking into the whole thing (I was going to post more views I found of it, but I haven't gotten around to it yet), and that's the most popular explanation, which makes sense. Of course there are folks arguing that it's not the case, but whatever it is it's still awesome. I'll try to post the other pics soon.

Cool (and scary) pics, BD. :smt023

Thanks you two....was hoping for some new ones from our cruise last week....damn camera broke down...no pics....very sad!!! Had some great photo ops too, ended up buying a disposable underwater one, but just not the same....now in the market for a new underwater camera, will invest more this time....want one that lasts more than a year....!!!

Spectacular Wedding Photo Showing the Milky Way Floating Overhead

weddingstars_mini.jpg

Melbourne, Australia-based wedding photographer Lakshal Perera shot this stunning wedding photograph a few days ago
showing the newlywed couple in the foreground and the Milky Way floating in the night sky.
The scene was extremely dim, allowing for a clear view of the sky.

And a reader captured the same thing, but in San Diego...

I took a similar image of my girlfriend and I a couple months ago in eastern San Diego.
I haven't photoshopped anything, but I did slightly change the white balance..
