I wouldn't hide food there. It'd be the mental connection for me - just couldn't mix my food with my hygiene products, lol.
This would be a great idea for a place for diary for a teen, or for an adult, to hide money or jewelery.
And it's not like you would forget where you put it, you'd find it in 4 weeks, tops. (Unless you got preggers, lol.)
