Big Timbs fan here. Great pic.:smt023

I'm tired of only seeing my family when someone dies. From now on I'm going to make much more of an effort to connect with the family I have left. I've been saying that for a while now but two deaths in two weeks makes me rethink my priorities.

So sorry to hear that. It is never easy to lose loved ones. My thoughts and prayers going up for your family.

Since,
My condolences to you and your family. Hope you can bring them all together in times other than death..the resulting association (I only see them when something's wrong) would make me want to shy away from the whole deal.

Thanks guys...it's my dad's side of the family and they've never been all that close. There was a reunion this summer that I didn't attend because of work but that's going to start changing from now on.

Also, thanks to the person who repped me anonymously. Of course, by being anon I can't rep you back like I want to...

Sorry for your loss, man. My mother's side of the family has annual reunions for the last 20 years or so. We did that for the very reason you are talking about. Like every family, we have lost a lot of people the last 20 years through old age, sickness, accidents and even suicide. The last time I saw my dear first cousin (we were the only boys on that side of the family) was at one of these reunions. A few years later, he was gone, having taken his own life.I think about him often, and I still grieve for him, but I have the comfort of having connected with him before he left us.

If you have to move heaven and earth to get to those reunions, please do so...you won't regret it.

Augusta to Charlotte, Charlotte to LA and finally LA to Sydney, which from my research is a 15 hour flight. If all goes according to plan, I plan on staying six days, minus one day or so for jet lag. I've always wanted to go to Australia so I decided to just go ahead and do it. As for an Aussie lady...there's one who's already got me wrapped tightly around her finger. New Year's Eve is going to be amazing :smt003

Sounds like a great way to spend the holidays. As for the Aussie lady, I'm not surprised...that Aussie charm is hard to resist. ;)

There is something so special about chilling in a book store or library. I wont be so lame as to say 'cerebral" but it is...there is a wonderful aura and energy that emanates in the space.

Yep. It's even more special when you get to take some of that wonderfulness home with you. :smt023

I love Jane Austen, the books are better than the movies tho (isn't that always the case?)Sense and Sensibility is also a good one. I think Kierra Knightly does a good job playing these roles.

I agree with this post 100%. :D

Can anyone tell me what the British Broadcasting Corporation, Catholic church, the Boy Scouts of America, and Penn State all have in common?

They're all a bunch of sorry bastards who go out of their way to cover for scum of the earth pedophiles.

Just got wind that my ex is trying to move my son to San Diego without my knowledge or permission (2nd move in as many years). E-mailing lawyer now. Wish me luck, guys.

That isn't right. I hope your lawyer can stop the move for you.
