Has anyone caught "Married at First Sight" on A&E?

They are running a marathon of the first season today on A&E and the new season (2) begins Tuesday evening at 9pm EST.

The show is about relying on Matchmaking Experts to pair up men & women matching their personality traits, spiritual beliefs, etc. and they marry/meet their match on the same day. The series follows each couple through their honeymoon, moving in together, etc. and at the end of the season, they decide if they want to annul their marriage or stay married.

Pretty interesting watch for a lazy day.

Don't think I could ever do something like this!
 
i didnt say it was smart they gave the man money. if they were dumb enuff to pay the man large amts of money thinking they will get rich too then they are asking to get janked

its called prosperity gospel for a reason.they think money is gonna rain down on them.

I watched the whole first season when it was on last year.. It was a lot more down to earth than I thought it would be. I asked myself if I could do it and if I were single and wanted to be married and nothing else was working for me, I think I would. Why not? We try everything else.

Often, we are our on worst enemies when it comes to choosing a mate. We think we know what's good for us but we really don't. (I say we as in people in general). If we can't seem to find the right person to settle down with or are constantly getting our hearts broken, it's us that are the problem. A lot of us don't realize that or aren't willing to accept it. This show's premiss, for those who are serious about being committed for life, removes a lot of our bull shit reasoning from the equation.

I hope they don't crank up the drama for season 2. It should not veer into Real Housewives territory. ...lol

Yep. And the problem with her friend's choices is that she's only limiting her pool to the men who choose her or who show interest in her., rather than seeking out the men that she likes and going after them that fit her personality. Thanks to social conditioning, of course.

Women can hit on men, men can hit on women. As long as people don't like what's best for them, they will alway have relationship problems or just end up alone.

Well we have a way to go, because women can't really go around hitting on men, since that usually signals to a man she wants to be fucked.
I don't even want to call it 'hitting on' because serious women approach men from a different angle when she's looking for a partner. A woman is cerebral and emotional in her choice. Men are more visual, therefore he's motivated by stronger sexual desires, so guys can keep that 'hitting on' label, lol.

Not to say that there aren't women that behave exactly like lustful men, let's keep it real. However, there are many women who do seek quality in a partner, and as I said she should not limit her options to only those who show interest in her..

What if the men she likes or thinks will fit her personality are all wrong for her? That's the problem most people make. They think they know what's good for them, but they truly don't. And it shows in their relationship history.

I wasn't suggesting that she will luckout every time, l said she should open up her pool of options and not just pick from the men who pick her - that was my point. odds are greatly increased by doing so, don't you think? We may be discussing different points here, as well.

It's almost as sad as people praising god for their award wins or becoming rich and famous
