Marijuana is still illegal in the majority of jurisdictions, and it's still scheduled at the federal level. But a lot of municipalities within states don't even bother enforcing those laws if the person has a small amount of marijuana. Years ago here, it wasn't strange to see people charged with misdemeanors for marijuana possession for even the smallest amount. Fast forward a decade or so, and having a small amount of weed gets you a citation that you can come to court and pay off, with little criminal consequences. Our local sheriff's office is over it at this point.Ok, ^^^^ maybe not a slap on the wrist .. Didn't realize it's still a crime in some U.S States.

"Former Knicks star Iman Shumpert was arrested over the weekend for allegedly carrying a “sizable” amount of marijuana in his backpack at the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport.
TSA officers responded to a possible drug violation call, according to TMZ Sports. When they checked the athlete, they found 6.12 ounces of a “green leafy substance” in his bag. He admitted it was weed. Tests confirmed it was marijuana.
Shumpert was placed in handcuffs and detained in the airport jail without incident.
If convicted, he faces 2 years in jail and a $10,000 fine."
Luckily he's rich, and money can really insulate a person from the consequences of stupidity, because carrying weed at an airport is really, really fucking stupid. Bruh, you're a millionaire! And if he was traveling domestically, he can buy weed pretty much anywhere in the country. He'll most likely end up with probation or some kind of deferred sentence (if Texas even does those). If he doesn't have any other prior convictions, he'll probably be fine.
