I am very happy to hear such rewarding news about "The Rings of Power". I so look forward to starting the Amazon series again this December. I just want to focus my medieval fantasy fandom on one show at a season and stretch my $$$ further. Sure hope Netflix doesn't complicate my decision to wait too much with "Witcher: Blood Origins" premiering next month maybe?!?

Mate just sail the high seas....I keep Amazon around but not for Prime.

I like the horror movies on Prime Video. They have a much better selection than Netflix and some of their action movies are good too. I just want to take my time and get my money's worth lol. Check out "Furious", "The Golden Horde" and "Sophia" if you enjoy medieval adventure stuff.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Official Trailer

Namor and Ramonda look great. Riri in the MCU seems like she will be at least more likeable the her Comic Version.

However, this trailer shows they took the lack of Black Males commentary to heart by trying to push as much Mbaku as possible.
But come on we all know Mbaku is getting the Worf Special as Namor's Punching Bag.

As for Shuri as Black Panther expected...but God Wright didn't hit the gym at all. Heck I think Riri looks in better shape. And obviously Angela despite being twice Wright's age looks like a more legit warrior. This trailer doesn't even let Shuri talk hardly shows much confidence in your new lead. The selling point here seems everything but SHURI.

The more I see of Wakanda Forever the more disappointed I get. Putting the recasting of T’Challa aside, I can’t believe how little Black male representation there is in a movie set in Africa.

From Star Wars to Marvel, Disney seems to be turning every hero into a Disney princess. And, to be honest, it wouldn’t be so bad if what they were doing was actually good. So much of what they’re doing is just so “meh.” And, that makes to the push to be more inclusive look gimmicky and unneeded.

Though, I did enjoy Dr Strange 2 and Spider-Man NWH.

Need to be good and balanced. I also don't think Star Wars show wise at least is really pushing too many Females. But that is probably more cause they got scorched by the Sequel Trilogy.

Whereas yeah MCU is going all in on Girl Power and always Trying to tell you have the female knockoff is better then the OG Male Version.

So, I watched the first episode of "Interview With The Vampire." Not only is Louis a closeted gay man. But, he's also a Pimp who runs the most successful whore house in New Orleans. He was neither in the book.

This is how black men get treated in fantasy and science fiction. We’re always, in someway lessened, othered or used to push another other group’s agenda forward. I'd rather they'd have kept the character white.

I am not sure he is a Closeted Gay Dude @samson1701. Vampire compulsion makes things weird. Or did I miss when he said he was Gay? I thought it was maybe saying he was Bi. But like I said vampires make things hard to tell

Spawn Live-Action Project Adds Comic Book Movie Alumni On Script

Blumhouse’s Spawn movie is getting a new jolt of creative energy, with the film based on Todd McFarlane’s comic book character adding a trio of writers.

Joker’s Scott Silver, Falcon and the Winter Soldier’s Malcolm Spellman and rising scribe Matt Mixon are teaming on a new script for the feature, which has been in development at Blumhouse since 2017. Jamie Foxx remains attached to star as the antihero, who was first introduced in the comics in 1992, with McFarlane among the film’s producers.

McFarlane had been eying the director’s chair and wrote a previous draft of the script. But the comic book writer and artist acknowledges he may not be the right person to direct, particularly now that some of the highest profile writers in the comic book movie space are involved.

Spawn was a launch title for Image Comics, the artist-founded publisher that is home to titles such as The Walking Dead and where McFarlane remains CEO. The original Spawn No. 1 sold 1.7 million issues and the character has launched games, an animated HBO show, and a 1997 New Line movie starring Michael Jai White. McFarlane has kept the character a priority at Image, launching multiple titles over the past year.

In the comics, Spawn is a former black-ops agent who makes a deal with a demon after being betrayed and killed. The demon allows him to return to Earth, but when he returns, five years have passed, his wife has moved on and he roams Earth as a disfigured spawn of hell.

While Foxx remains attached to star, the involvement of Jeremy Renner, who was previously attached, is to be determined, depending on how things come together with the new draft. McFarlane’s version of the script was for a low-budget feature, but the new Spawn may get a slightly heftier budget, says McFarlane, who along with the team is seeking a studio partner.

As for this latest iteration of Spawn, McFarlane cites seeing the R-rated Joker in 2019 as a turning point, with him wondering, “Why not just go for the guy who wrote the movie?” He was pleasantly surprised that Silver said yes, and it snowballed from there, with the other writers joining in.

Says McFarlane: “It was a complete Hail Mary. Sometimes timing is everything.”
