Yeah. Remember Living Single on FOX was literally the blueprint for Friends when it came out a few years later on NBC. And anytime that's pointed out it's "No not the same because it was on FOX and anything on FOX was considered flash in the pan/flavor of the moment. Funny how all the shows that came out on FOX that had black & brown folks are now considered classics. From In Living Color all the way down to New York Undercover.

Personal Hot Take: Rewatched Superman on VOD and even though I know they are bring in Batman eventually, wouldn't be bothered in the least if they had Mister Terrific in the role that Batman plays in the eventually Justice League & DCU overall. Minus being the protector of Gotham, Mister Terrific in the DCU, checks all the boxes that Batman does including his interactions with Superman but with a lighter edge to it.

At Anime NYC, Netflix presented a teaser trailer for Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, an animated series based on the popular video game franchise.

So back in the early 2010's Hasbro gained the license for the Micronauts toys & IP. They commissioned & produce a 2 season animated series in order to promote the IP to try to give it the same level of notoriety as there two heavy hitter properties Transformers & G.I Joe. with plans for a "shared universe" in 2015, new plans in place with Paramount to to expand the Transformers films into a full cinematic universe featuring G.I. Joe, Visionaries, M.A.S.K., ROM the Space Knight, and Micronauts (something they were already doing in comic book form). Alas the the Micronauts series was never released for public broadcast but all 52 episodes have now made their way online to YouTube & Reddit.

The Phantom is returning to comics this September in an all-new series, reborn, renewed, and with a new sense of purpose in today’s world, almost a century after his first appearance.
Originally debuting as a newspaper strip from Lee Falk in February 1936—which means he predated Superman as a costumed crimefighter by a couple of years—King Features Syndicate’s The Phantom wasn’t just the first comic strip hero to wear a skintight costume, as future superheroes would; he was also the first to wear a mask that hid his pupils from the world, which would also go on to become a superhero standard.
Since his debut in newspapers, the Phantom has appeared on the big screen—he had a movie series in 1943 and a feature film in 1996 that’s worth tracking down—and in comic books, having been published by both DC and Marvel Comics across the decades. Now, he’s back in a new comic book series from indie publisher Mad Cave, with creators Ray Fawkes and pulp illustrator Russell Olson at the wheel, following on from their revival of the character with the Free Comic Book Day 2025 Phantom #0 release.
The Phantom #1 will be released September 24, 2025.

Game of Thrones' Sean Bean leaves behind the nobility of Ned Stark as he takes on the role of Robin Hood's greatest foe in the upcoming TV adaptation of the legendary outlaw's tale. The upcoming MGM+ series will see Jack Patten portray Rob, the series' new Robin Hood reimagining, alongside Lauren McQueen, Connie Nielsen, and Bean.

Varang from Avatar: Fire and Ash, The Hero of Her People
In the upcoming Avatar: Fire and Ash, audiences will be introduced to the Mangkwan clan, also known as the Ash People, and their leader, Varang, who is a formidable force in her own right. Behind the scenes, actor Oona Chaplin, who portrays Varang, used music and décor to get her into the right mindset for the new character.
Unlike the Omatikaya and Metkayina clans, the Mangkwan have faced significant hardships, leading them to question Pandora’s spiritual entity, Eywa. Chaplin says the clan has lost its faith. “They have a bunch of unresolved trauma,” Chaplin explains. “They got hit by a natural disaster.”
Varang’s leadership takes the Mangkwan down a different path, seeking power elsewhere to lift her people from despair. “It’s easy to fall into the villain mentality, but actually she’s the hero of her people. Because she’s saved them out of misery and starvation and begging,” Chaplin adds.
The role required Chaplin to delve into dark places, immersing herself in the trauma Varang endured. “I covered my whole trailer with very vivid and disturbing images of the kind of trauma that Varang would have gone through,” she shares. To channel Varang’s vengeful energy, Chaplin also created an intense playlist, including throat-singing and songs from the band Slipknot. “I’d never really gone into death metal, and probably Slipknot is laughable to some people: ‘Oh, that’s so mild’,” she admits. “But it was pretty hardcore for me.”
Despite the intensity, Chaplin managed to keep Varang’s influence in check. “She did seep into my psyche a little more than I had anticipated,” she laughs. “It was okay. I didn’t rip anybody’s head off.”
