Will is the big fish in this cast. It would be weird if he wasn't playing a prominent role. (Cue the fan-boys whining about the race swap)

I just don't know how they are going to justify The Joker in this movie. I can't imagine Joker working with a team, even at the threat of death.

Lol

With all of the multiverse/ultimate/alternate/extra-plane shit comics do, I figured there was a black version of deadshot somewhere I didn't know about

And yeah....when u cast will smith in a role...expect him to have a significant chunk in the movie

Jared Leto may be all the girls' wetdream, but will is the seat filler

I don't think the Joker will be an actual member of the team. I think they may be doing a take on the recent Assault on Arkham animated feature where the Suicide Squad had to break into Arkham Asylum in order to get classified info or some such from the Riddler. Due to the complicated love/hate relationship between Harley Quinn and the Joker is how he comes into play. Also have to wonder now if they'll do the Harley/Deadshot/Joker triangle that played out both in the animated movie & recent Suicide Squad comics.

That's the thing. I don't know why some people get so upset when they Blackify a B-list character, it's almost like they are afraid that it's a slippery slope that will lead to a Black transvestite Batman, or something.

We all know that the iconic A-list characters like Superman, Captain America, and Wonder Woman, will never be race-swapped.

couldn't think of anyone else

Either oprah or shonda rimes lol

Any powerful heavyset black woman would do

Pam Grier should play Amanda Waller. She played her in an episode of Smallville and is tricked by Martian Manhunter J,onn Jonz. Or, failling that, Alfre Woodard.

Hey. You never know. This might be the one where Will finally gets to tongue down a white woman on screen.....:p

Or

This might be the one (in a long line) where the handsome black is upstaged, once more, by a white actor when it comes to romance

You guys know that Will was offered the role of Superman but turned it down because of the reaction whites had to him being Jim West.

Smh

Just when you think you truly crossed over, this shit happens

As for the rock playing Muhammad Ali...firstly Muhammad Ali is a historical icon/living legend. Having someone non black play his role would be a HUGE disservice to history, so the writer of that article made a shitty comparison. With that said, the rock is partially black so maybe the writer needs to read up on that

Dude, not trying to turn this thread into "one of those topics" but I'm so sick of the white nerds' double standards and closed mindedness over people of color playing lead roles in genre films and TV that I'm seriously about done with that stuff in terms of taking part in forums, conventions, comic book stores and the like. Which is sad 'cause I really like that stuff.

It used to be a very accepting community until blacks started playing iconic characters. Then, they became just as intolerant as the people who used make fun of them.

Okay, end of rant.

Anybody catch Flash vs. Arrow last night? Not bad. Not bad at all. I was all nerded out. It was just like reading a superhero team up comic when I was a kid.

SPOILER ALERT!

Thought they should have shown them actually fighting and catching the bad guy at the end though instead of just locking him up.

Let's see how you feel if Stone Cold Steve Austin plays Luke Cage or Kathy Bates plays Amanda Waller in Suicide Squad
