what do white women love about black men?

...and you too lovely Tam, each type I write your name, I mouth it in the same breathe. For me, you are a flame that suddenly comes alive in a strange, but magical place. I imagine you and think about horses, their hooves, and their strength in motion, and marvel at the world the molded and toughened your spirit.

It reminds me of some story in the bible, although I might not really be accurately telling it, and might have it really mixed up, yet it is a story that ministered to me years ago about a woman of practical means that knew no city life, a woman sired, raised and toughened in the drudgery of everyday life on the farm, in the wild, yet in whom the city man found worthy , or found the love of a city man.

The story flows and strikes in me in a particular part, the moment I would call the moment of discovery. When the man looked at her weathered hands, and she also thought about her weathered hands, and the things she could accomplish with them, and when she also considered the soft and supple skin of the other competing woman in the city, she was discouraged whether she was match in competition for the woman of the city, matched enough to deserve love from this city man.

Yet, beyond the klieg lights of the city, beyond the obsession of fashion, competition, booze, and sex; something held the city man in awe of this rural woman. He knew when he saw her that he wanted the woman of practical means.

Now, I have never seen you, neither I have I seen your weathered hands :D, nor do I say you have weathered hands :D I speak more to your spirit and to your knowledge of the world that is beyond immediacy and fanciness of looks, or skin colour . I speak more to your spirit, your soul, and the way you weave your words and the depth of experience that shines forth in your comments and your bountiful generousity, and those words that continue to hold me hostage, even though I am very far away, yet the love of the mind is not restricted by borders, nor colour.

Please continue being Tam, I am a fan4real. I would have said I loved you, but you hate people that say they are in love with you so soon:D

I hope this little message lifts your day and brightens your spirit. And thank you for the gift of the spirit, and that other stuff, you know what, you are amazing too :)

Thank you so much Naija for the sweet, wonderful words of appreciation & acknowledgement. This message definitely lifted me up & brightened my spirit. I appreciate you for making me feel special. Life hasn't been easy at times, & it makes me forget what I am worth sometimes. It touches me that you recognize what I've gained from what I've been through rather than viewing it from the perspective of what I've lost. It's encouraging to know someone sees me for who I am, & who doesn't see my "mistakes" in life as weaknesses, but as things that have made me stronger.

The bible story sounds a lot like the Songs of Solomon. The man from the city being king Solomon & the country woman, the Shulamite who worked in a vineyard. He didn't look down on her but saw her beauty beyond the rough exterior of her station in life & came to love her for who she was.

Thank you for appreciating my spirit, soul, mind & who I am as a person. Thank you so much for being a Tam fan & for being such a sweet, beautiful, soulful man who never ceases to amaze me with your insightful, thoughtful posts. :smt058

Btw, you can tell me you love me anytime. ;)

Well in my case a black men approached me . I never thought I would "kick" it with a black guy, but we have been talking on the phone for hours and are planning to meet I guess for an date. What I like about him is his confidence that he wasnt afraid of approaching me and knows what he wants, I also find his voice sexy and the way he laughs at times. He is not a thug, yet I can see he has a wild side to him also, he works so that is a plus and treat women with respect. As far as his "size" I dont believe in myths like that. I dated a guy with a huge...and he was mediocre in bed at best, it is not the size that matter, either you click in a bed with him or not. Now I dont discriminate against my own kind, I find white men equally attractive. I know that black men have it harder than any other race of men, those negative stereotypes, lack of father figures. I also know that black men were the first men on the earth, yet they die faster than white men.Their average lifespan is shorter. We got to love them cause they have it hard out there.

Interesting.

That was a methaphore. I dont have to love you. That is not my point. My point was to illustrate that black men has less than equal opportunities because of stereotypes, putting them in a ghetto, not educating them, labeling them. I meant no harm I actually feel sorry for them. But you as a black man wouldnt understand a white women's thoughts. I actually respect black women as well, I hate that black guys dont date black women.

Uh huh. And you feel sorry for them/us pathetic black males why? And considering I'm married to a white woman, I think I have a good grasp on white women's thoughts. At least the ones who have genuine love and respect for black men.

Yes I feel sorry for them, I came to realize they have it hard out there. I'm sorry that is a reality.

Who are these "THEM" you speak of?? Black Men?? And where is this "OUT THERE" ?

All I see right now a lack of respect for others people opinion.

It's funny that you whine you're not being respected when you come in here disrespecting black men.

Black men can't date and we have it so hard you have to love us?? Yeah you sound sooo respectful of us black men.

She obviously has no respect for BM.

You're stereotyping the shit out of black men yourself. No one wants or needs you to feel sorry for them, so take your pity & shove it. You also need to understand that you don't speak for all white women; many of us don't have the jacked up thinking that you do. FYI, he has a better understanding of how WW who love BM minds works that you ever could because he doesn't share your ignorance.

I appreciate you're feeling sorry for my sorry ass. I've been broke for a minute & couldn't afford to pay the rent, so my white land lord lady threw my blk ass on da streets, can you hook a brother up with a little some some, Missfine. They do say action speaks louder.

Right so I disrespect black men because I'm being real.

There's NOTHING real about anything you're saying you ignorant bitch!!!

I live in Chicago, I go to a lot of ghetto places.

WTF?!?!?

Stereotyping is being real??

According to her ignorant ass it is.

Uh huh and why would you go to the ghetto being that it is such a bad place? Just say... since most white people would know better. The bad black folk might get you....

Are you trying to "get" her too Ra-Ra! LMAO!!

Believe it or not, some were trying to get me...

Yeah, the were trying to run your crazy, ignorant ass out of their neighborhood.
