Thank you, beautiful! Life isn't fair sometimes. We are a close family. I still have two siblings and a niece and nephews. Our lives are different now, but we are thankful to have had them for as long as we did. The loss we feel means that they were special and worthy of being missed. They live on in the ones they left behind.
I’m very fortunate, and I know that I am. The circumstances of how we met years ago and how we reconnected after all these years can only be described as fate. We owe a lot to this forum and to webbie (ie the webmaster.) I don’t mind you asking at all. I’m usually an open book. Lol. I’m a certified public accountant (CPA.) When he and I first met, I was the first female partner in a CPA firm. I worked a ton, and I did a lot of volunteer work in my community. Then, a firm from out-of-state wanted to buy us out. I was getting tired of the tax season hours, and my parents were having health issues. I was ready to sell. When we sold the firm, I went to work as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of a regional non-profit organization. I was still working a lot, but it was a rewarding job making a difference in people’s lives. While I was working there, I was approached about a job at a public university. I was ready for another challenge, so I am now in charge of financial aid and scholarships, and I’m the bursar for the university. Basically, I work more now than I ever have, but I love it. I feel like I’m making a difference in the students’ lives, and I’m helping them make their dreams come true.
A lot of men weren’t able to handle how much that I worked and volunteered. After I made partner, some of the men couldn’t handle that I made more money than them. I really don’t know what they wanted me to do. I had worked too long and too hard to give it all up for anyone. Thankfully, there are men that can handle an independent woman, and I’m blessed to have found one. That was probably a lot more than you wanted to know. Lol
