"Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them."

-Dalai Lama XIV

"Man is the cruelest animal."

-Friedrich Nietzsche

"We are all born innocent, we are a blank sheet that adults and others fill in during the first years of our lives. The values we and lessons we have been taught by the age of 7 stay with us for life. I was brought up to believe that helping others was a very good thing and standing up for the underdog was normal. Nowadays we live in a me me me world. Kindness is treated as weakness and those who are conscientious are treated as mugs. The concept of society and old-fashioned values have been thrown away in favour of dog eat dog..." - paulp, stourbridge, France

A strong nation, like a strong person, can afford to be gentle, firm, thoughtful, and restrained. It can afford to extend a helping hand to others. It is a weak nation, like a weak person, that must behave with bluster and boasting and rashness and other signs of insecurity. -Jimmy Carter, 39th US President, Nobel laureate (b. 1924)

Yes ma'am. The last line definitely rings true. It's not up to another woman to understand my style, I'm actually quite ok with people not falling in line with my way of thinking or being. The people who are meant to get me, do. That's good enough for me ;)
