So, today I posted my very heavy, 10 year old TV on Craigslist for free. I've already gotten 9 replies from people who want it.

My question is: am I missing out on something by giving it away for free? LOL. Do people just want a 216 pound TV because it's free or are they going to turn around and sell it or recycle it to make money? I want to know now.

I was not expecting the interest that I've gotten already.

is it analog or digital? Why are you not selling it? is it still working?

I talked to a couple of people and they both said that no one would pay even $50 for a 10 year old TV when they can spend a few hundred bucks to get a brand new flat screen TV.

This is my exact model: http://www1.epinions.com/elec-Video-Televisions-All-Sony_KV-36FV26/display_~full_specs

I bought it in Sept 2000 and it still works fine. I'm just tired of lugging it around.

I think you could make money off of it. I mean even if you make $10 that is better than nothing. That's just me though.

I'd give you 50 for it to use it in my pool room(only have a 19'')but with that weight it would be too much to ship to PR...:smt010 :D

I gave my Old 26 inch Toshiba away to a neighbour when I got my new 42 plasma, I was just glad not to have to run it down the tip, It wasn't even as old as yours I think maybe 5 years, sometimes you just have to let things go, if you tried to sell it, you'd probably be waiting an age for a few quid all the while it's taking up space, you could make someone happy on hard times, personally I'd be more inclined to give it to someone I know or someone like a student or single mother.

It's a beautiful day in the Chi baby, we are on Michigan ave in the high rise on the balcony with 15 good friends, drinks and BBQ, yes, then we are going to hit the lounge, I'm perfect:cool:

lol...it's not that i want to, it's because that's all we're allowed...!!! there has been a drought over here for years, so we're on water restrictions, which means 4 minute showers...washing cars with a bucket of water...watering plants every second day (and not the lawn) and no hose play at all

You should try my grandpa's village in sicily. sometimes they don't have water for a half of the day. that sucks.

that's horrible. i always tell myself whenever i think things are a little tough, that there are people out there worse off than me and to stop complaining about the little things & appreciate what i have.

My friends fulfilled a 3 year old pact and pissed on the door of the state capital last week.

Yeah, the more I thought about it today, the more I realized that I need to pay it forward. So I'll be giving it away. I had something unbelievably amazing happen for me a couple of days ago and I need to spread the love to others.

I would like to give it to a friend or a friend of a friend. My sister got me a little nervous today when she said to "be careful" because there are a bunch of stories about people getting robbed and/or killed when they would sell stuff on Craigslist. EEK.

today it was beautiful but yesterday afternoon the trees were swaying...traffic signs flopping over on the interstate...orange cones rolling all over on the roads...dark black clouds covered the sky..then came the rain...it took us 2 hours to get from midway to my hotel in naperville...

where was my milk delivery?:smt009

It is good news since I haven't had a period in almost a year. :smt038
I went to the gynecologist a few months ago and she was like, "Try to have a period at least every 3 months." I was thinking like, "How do I try to have a period?" Anyways, yay!!, I got one, heh. Cramps suck though
