I just call and figure whoever I'm calling will catch it on the caller id and call me back later. I always found voice mail pretty awkward.

Oh, I assumed you meant for the calls, not texts. That would be a nice feature to have though...lol Shit, if the ringer can work for different users, why can't the text from that person do the same, right?
I hate (and this happens often with people I know), want to text about something that needs to be discussed verbally. I'm like wtf? This is too annoying to be discussing over text AND I feel trapped, cause I can't say what I really want to say, cause there's too much to type. I understand that sometimes people aren't in a position to talk, but if it's something worthy of discussing in great detail, call my ass!
It would be nice if it would work that way.
Yeah, texting is not the way to have a conversation. My ex bf wanted to text all the damn time...even when it was something we needed to actually talk about & it drove me crazy. It's like people don't know how to talk these days & they rely on texting way too much IMO.
That's funny, the dude I dated last year was like that - it just simply doesn't work. I hate carrying convos on txt, its for short information stuff to me. "be there in 5" type stuff or for sending a cute or sexxxy message. I cant stand when it keeps going back and forth more than maybe 2-3 times.
I think a man (or woman) who tries to use texting for conversation is immature, inconsiderate & lazy.
You're right; it doesn't work at all. Texting has it's purposes & sexting on occasion is nice, but I hate the back & forth crap. I prefer to talk like grown folks do. Maybe I would've liked texting like that in high school (if cell phones had been common back then, lol), but as an adult I don't find it appealing. I think a man (or woman) who tries to use texting for conversation is immature, inconsiderate & lazy.
But you don't call 20 times in a day not leaving a message, I'm sure.
I don't see a problem with that if you KNOW the person. That's how I have it with my parents and friends, but I don't know this nutjob and have never spoken to him....lol
Maybe he doesn't realize I have caller ID...lol
lol, no, definitely not my forte.
Hmmm. I resemble that remark.
Could not agree more!!!!!!!That was one of the reasons I stopped seeing him. I feel its extremely juvenile/lazy etc if you can only communicate via txt and messenger. pft.
LOL. Since we're not dating, I'm willing to let it slide.![]()
That was one of the issues in my last relationship. He sucked at communicating, & it was one of the things about him that made me feel like I was dealing with a teenager instead of a grown man. I much prefer dealing with someone that's all grown up.

Grown up is a major plus LOL. If you don't have communication, you really don't have anything at all. I have no need to talk shit to death but real communication over txts is just aggravating, especially if the other person demands instant replies. If you want to "talk" that extensively, just pick up the darn gard phone.
Oh, it must be my lucky day.
I kind of think that whether someone is immature or rude depends on what it said, not how it's conveyed.
what a bad weekend i had![]()
That's true to an extent, but texting is not the best way to have a real conversation; especially an important one. Sometimes texting has it's practical uses; I have a couple of LD friends who I text back & forth with on occasion because it's usually cheaper than calling (Skype or Yahoo Messenger are cheap ways to call if you have access to them), but I think one of the reasons folks use texting so much is to avoid actual conversation.
